A Collection of 10 Classical Music Vinyl LP Records including CBS Masterworks and Columbia Labels
Description
A collection of ten 12-inch vinyl LP records primarily issued on the CBS, CBS Masterworks, and Columbia labels. The group features a selection of classical compositions and prominent 20th-century performers. The collection comprises: Itzhak Perlman and Jorge Bolet with the Juilliard String Quartet performing Chausson’s Concert for Violin, Piano and String Quartet; Leonard Bernstein conducting and performing Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major; Rudolf Serkin performing Beethoven’s Moonlight, Pathetique, and Appassionata sonatas; and Isaac Stern and Pinchas Zukerman performing works by Mozart and Pleyel. Also included are piano concertos by Grieg and Schumann with Leon Fleisher and George Szell; Elgar’s Violin Concerto with Pinchas Zukerman and Daniel Barenboim; Luis Cobos’s Opera Extravaganza; Sibelius’s Symphony No. 4 conducted by Leonard Bernstein; Bach Trio Sonatas with Jean-Pierre Rampal and Pinchas Zukerman; and Debussy’s The Martyrdom of St. Sebastian conducted by Eugene Ormandy. The records are housed in their original printed cardboard sleeves, featuring various label designs such as the CBS Masterworks Digital series and the Columbia Masterworks 360 Sound Stereo series.
Condition report:
The outer cardboard sleeves show signs of shelf wear and age-related handling, including edge rubbing, corner bumping, and visible ring wear on several covers. One sleeve has a vintage retail price sticker affixed to the front. The vinyl records themselves have been removed from the sleeves for visual inspection but not audio testing.
