A Collection of Classical Music Vinyl LP Records Including Leonard Bernstein and CBS Masterworks Recordings
Description
A collection of ten 12-inch classical music vinyl LP records, primarily issued on the CBS, Columbia Masterworks, and CBS Masterworks labels. The group features prominent conductors and soloists performing a range of orchestral and instrumental works. The collection includes: Leonard Bernstein conducting the New York Philharmonic in Beethoven symphonies and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 Pathétique; Zubin Mehta conducting the New York Philharmonic in Stravinsky’s Petrouchka and the Isaac Stern 60th Anniversary Celebration with soloists Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman; Daniel Barenboim conducting Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance Marches and the Cello Concerto featuring soloist Jacqueline du Pré; Vladimir Horowitz performing works by Chopin; and Eugene Ormandy with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Several sleeves indicate digital recordings. The albums are housed in their original illustrated or photographic cardboard sleeves.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of use consistent with age and handling. Visible wear to the sleeves includes bumped corners, edge rubbing, and some surface scuffing or ring wear. The Elgar Cello Concerto sleeve shows more pronounced creasing and edge wear. One Beethoven sleeve has a circular 5p sale sticker adhered to the front. The vinyl records themselves have been removed from the sleeves for internal inspection but not play testing.
