A Trio of Clear Pressed Glass Dishes including a Lidded Box and a Pair of Pedestal Dishes
Description
A trio of clear pressed glass items dating from the mid-20th century, comprising one circular lidded dish and a pair of matching square pedestal dishes. The circular lidded dish, suitable for use as a trinket or bonbon box, features vertical fluted ribbing and diamond-faceted panels to the body and cover, which is finished with a faceted finial. The base is decorated with a radiating sunburst pattern. The matching pair of pedestal dishes, potentially intended as salt cellars or small sweetmeat dishes, each feature a square bowl with a central geometric starburst pattern supported by a faceted, waisted stem on a square base. All pieces exhibit characteristic mould lines associated with the pressed glass technique.
Circular lidded dish: 9.5 cm diameter, 9 cm height.
Pedestal dishes: 7.5 cm square, 6 cm height.
Condition report:
The items appear to be in good overall condition. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs were observed upon visual inspection. Minor surface wear consistent with age and domestic use may be present.
