Description

This collection consists of several items of metal insignia, primarily shoulder titles, alongside a naval trade badge. The group includes three brass shoulder titles for the Royal Army Ordnance Corps (RAOC) in block lettering, typical of British Army issue during the mid-20th century and WWII era. There is one curved brass shoulder title bearing the word CANADA, of the type worn by Canadian forces during both World Wars. Also present is a white metal shoulder title with the letters BMP, attributed to the Bechuanaland Mounted Police. A brass title with the letters LOL features a central decorative circular element, associated with the Loyal Orange Lodge fraternal organisation. The final item is a brass badge depicting a fouled anchor, a design used for various naval proficiency or trade ratings. The items are manufactured from brass and white metal, with several pieces showing fixing lugs or pins on the reverse.

UK five-pence coin used for scale (18mm diameter).

Condition report:

The items are in a varied, used condition commensurate with their age. All pieces show expected surface tarnish and a natural patina. The fixing lugs on the reverse of the shoulder titles appear largely intact, though the naval anchor badge is missing its reverse attachment mechanism.
