A Set of Five Pewter Wine Goblets in the Style of Robert Welch for Old Hall
Description
A set of five pewter wine goblets featuring a brushed matt finish. The design is heavily influenced by the work of Robert Welch for Old Hall, distinguished by three incised horizontal bands encircling the upper portion of the flared bowls. Each goblet is produced using a spun construction technique, mounted on a cylindrical stem that leads to a circular, spreading base. The underside of each base features a circular stamped maker mark, though the characters are worn and not clearly legible. This collection is representative of British mid-century modern design principles from the 1960s.
Condition report:
The set is in good overall condition. Visible surface wear includes light scratches and minor scuffs consistent with age and previous use. There are small areas of oxidation and slight dulling to the finish on the interior surfaces of the bowls. No significant dents, structural damage, or repairs are present.
