Green and Gold Faux Turquoise Aztec Sun Stone Sculpture - Excellent Condition

Description
This decorative commemorative sculpture is modelled after the Aztec Sun Stone (Piedra del Sol). The central disc features detailed relief reproduction of the iconographic elements, including the face of Tonatiuh, the four previous eras, and the twenty day signs of the sacred calendar. The piece is constructed from a cast resin composite material finished with a mosaic-like surface of crushed faux-turquoise and green stone fragments. Raised reliefs are highlighted with gold-coloured metallic paint. The disc is mounted on a pedestal base featuring Mesoamerican-inspired low-relief carvings of figures and geometric patterns. The reverse of the disc is finished with a smooth black coating.
