10 Classical Music Long-Playing Records
Description
A collection of 10 12-inch vinyl long-playing (LP) records featuring classical music performances, primarily released on the CBS Masterworks label. The assembly includes recordings by significant 20th-century musicians and ensembles. Included in the lot are: Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 3 with Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic; Stravinsky Conducts Stravinsky featuring The Firebird with the Columbia Symphony Orchestra; Beethoven Fourth Piano Concerto with Rudolf Serkin and Eugene Ormandy with The Philadelphia Orchestra; three separate albums of Mozart Piano Concerti performed and conducted by Murray Perahia with the English Chamber Orchestra (covering Concerti Nos. 21, 24, 9, 12, and 27); Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky Violin Concertos with Pinchas Zukerman and the London Symphony Orchestra; Prokofiev Classical Symphony with Eugene Ormandy and The Philadelphia Orchestra; Beethoven The Four Leonore Overtures with George Szell and The Cleveland Orchestra; and Handel Organ Concertos with E. Power Biggs and Sir Adrian Boult. The discs are housed in printed card sleeves featuring various artwork styles, including portrait photography and graphic illustrations.
Condition report:
The card sleeves exhibit signs of handling and age-related wear, including minor bumping to corners, surface rubbing, and shelf wear along the edges. The vinyl records have been visually inspected for surface marks or scratches, but they have not been play-tested for audio quality. No evidence of heavy staining, major tears, or significant foxing is visible on the front covers.
