Austin Sculpture Modern Bear Composite Figure
Description
A composite sculpture titled Modern Bear, produced by Austin Sculpture and attributed to designer Alexander Danel. The stylized bear is depicted in a seated posture with its head tilted upwards, featuring smooth, minimalist contours. The piece is finished with a mottled, textured grey-green coating intended to simulate the appearance of stone. An impressed mark on the lower side includes a stylized logo and a copyright date of 1999. The base is fitted with a grey felt protective covering and a white adhesive manufacturer label printed with the model number AP3982, a barcode, and Made in Mexico.
Condition report:
The figure shows significant areas of finish loss, most notably to the face and neck, revealing the white substrate beneath. Scattered minor surface scuffs and small nicks are present, consistent with age and handling.
