Guernsey 10 New Pence Coin, 1968
Description
A 1968 Guernsey 10 New Pence cupro-nickel coin, KM# 24. The obverse features the Seal of the Bailiwick of the Island of Guernsey, depicting a shield with three lions passant guardant and the inscription S’BALLIVIE INSVLE DE GERNEREVE. The reverse displays a Guernsey cow facing left, with the denomination 10 to the left and the inscriptions NEW PENCE and the date 1968 arranged vertically to the right. This issue was part of the transition to decimalisation.
Diameter: 28.5 mm.
Condition report:
Circulated. The coin exhibits widespread surface wear and significant flattening of the high-point design elements. Numerous small contact marks and scratches are visible across both faces. The surfaces have a dull grey appearance with a total lack of original mint lustre.
