Two vintage gooseneck desk lamps, including an example by Searchlight
Description
Two vintage gooseneck desk lamps featuring painted metal finishes and adjustable chrome-plated steel arms.
The first lamp is finished in light pink and features a rounded, stepped metal shade with circular ventilation holes to the crown. It is mounted on a flexible chrome-plated gooseneck arm and a circular base with an integrated white rocker switch. The underside of the base bears a manufacturer label for Searchlight, Art No. 418, Made in Hong Kong, with a maximum wattage rating of 60W.
The second lamp is finished in a pale cream/yellow paint and features a conical metal shade with vertical ventilation slats to the upper section. It is supported by a chrome-plated flexible arm and a circular base with a white push-button switch. This example is unmarked.
Both lamps are fitted with white plastic-coated flex and standard UK three-pin plugs.
Condition report:
Both lamps are in good used vintage condition. The pink lamp shows minor surface marks and light wear consistent with age. The cream lamp shows more significant signs of age and use, including surface oxidation and areas of paint loss to the base and both the interior and exterior rim of the metal shade; the underside is also missing some of its protective feet. Both items are sold as tested.
