Lot 56:
Mauro Ascoli Venetian Canal and Italian Lake Scene Canvas Prints
Not sold
Description
This lot comprises two contemporary decorative prints on stretched canvas, each depicting an Italian landscape. The first is a landscape-oriented work featuring a couple in formal attire standing on a balcony overlooking a moonlit lake, likely Lake Como. The scene includes mountains in the background, a champagne bucket in the foreground, and is rendered in an impressionistic style with simulated brushwork. The second item is a portrait-oriented print depicting a Venetian canal with a bridge and arched buildings, executed in a style mimicking a watercolour painting. Both pieces are gallery-wrapped on wooden stretchers without external frames.
The Venetian canal scene features a printed signature in the lower right corner reading MAURO ASCOLI. The lake scene has a partially legible cursive signature in the lower left corner beginning with the letter M.
Condition report:
Both items are in very good condition.
