G. Githuo Stylised Antelope Wildlife Batik Fabric Painting

Description
A mid-century Kenyan batik on fabric artwork depicting a trio of stylised antelopes. The composition features three figures rendered in ochre, sienna, and dark brown tones, set against a mottled background of cream, yellow, sage green, and violet. The work is executed using a traditional wax-resist dyeing technique, characterised by fine crackle lines throughout the ground. The fabric is stretched over a wooden frame and secured with decorative floral-head metal tacks. The lower right corner is signed G. GITHUO in dark paint, with the final characters wrapping around the edge of the stretcher. The reverse is finished with a brown fibreboard backing and a cord hanging wire.
