Lot 151:
S.P.R. France Stoneware Casserole Dishes and Mixed Tableware Collection
Not sold
Description
A collection of domestic stoneware and glassware. The group includes several pieces of French regional oven-to-table ware produced by S.P.R. (Société de Poterie de Rochechouart). These pieces feature a traditional two-tone aesthetic with glossy cream-glazed interiors and deep mottled brown-glazed exteriors. The S.P.R. items include a rectangular baking dish, two oval pie dishes, and a circular bowl. Legible markings on the bases of the rectangular dish, circular bowl, and one oval dish consist of a stamped stylized castle turret symbol inside a rectangular border, with the characters S.P.R. above and FRANCE below. A larger cream oval dish features an incised number 9 in a circle. Also included are three small circular stoneware ramekins with matching lids, each featuring a central knob and a steam vent hole, finished in a uniform glossy brown glaze. The lot is completed by a white cylindrical ceramic jar embossed with vertical TOOLS lettering and a large circular pressed glass serving bowl featuring a vertical bark-textured exterior and a central starburst motif at the base.
