Description
A square-format photograph album featuring illustrations based on Edith Holden’s 1906 diary. The hardcover is finished with decorative printed paper-over-board and includes a white ribbon tie closure. The cover decoration depicts various British wildlife including a chaffinch, Small Heath and Peacock butterflies, and a red-tailed bumble bee, set against botanical illustrations of willow catkins and sorrel. Produced by Robert Frederick Limited, this 2006 licensed edition contains internal pages with pre-cut oval and rectangular apertures for photograph insertion. The apertures are bordered by watercolour-style floral illustrations and printed excerpts from the original diary text. The album appears to be unused with no internal inscriptions or photographs present.
