Lot 133:
A Pair of English 1930's Brass Framed Rural Landscape Wall Plaques
Description
A pair of circular wall plaques, each featuring a traditional rural landscape scene housed within a brass frame. The first plaque depicts a timber-framed Tudor-style cottage with a prominent blossoming tree in the foreground and a manicured garden to the side. The second plaque shows a pastoral scene with a thatched cottage situated by a body of water, with sheep grazing in the foreground fields. Each scene is rendered in a painterly style with a textured finish, possibly on a ceramic or metal substrate. The circular brass frames are designed with a beaded inner border and a flat, raised outer rim. The reverse of each frame is constructed from a solid metal plate with a single integrated hanging loop.
Diameter: 11.5 cm.
Condition report:
The plaques are in used condition.
