The unit features fixed, ridged non-stick upper and lower cooking plates and a floating hinge designed to accommodate thicker foods. A single orange indicator light is located on the top lid, which also bears the white George Foreman logo and signature. The underside of the appliance contains molded information including the manufacturer name, model number 18840, power specifications of 220-240V ~ 50/60Hz and 640-760W, and the country of origin as Indonesia. It also displays the CE mark, a crossed-out wheelie bin symbol, and U.S. patent number 5,606,905. A stamped numerical code 1471617 and an adhesive label for Spectrum Brands (UK) Ltd are also present on the base. The unit is fitted with a standard UK 3-pin plug.
