The lot consists of approximately 22 vinyl LP records focusing on classical music from the late 1960s to the early 1980s. The collection features a variety of labels including EMI, Decca, Philips, CBS Masterworks, and Turnabout, alongside budget reissues from Classics for Pleasure and Music for Pleasure. Key works include Tchaikovsky’s piano concertos performed by Emil Gilels and Leonard Pennario, Beethoven symphonies under Andre Cluytens, and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Vocal works feature Kiri Te Kanawa, while spoken word narrations include Sean Connery in Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. Other composers represented include Liszt, Grieg, Chopin, and Bizet. A brass band recording by the G.U.S. (Footwear) Band is also present. The recordings are primarily UK pressings from the mid-20th century.
Condition report:
The record sleeves are in very good condition overall. Most show light shelf wear and edge creasing, while one plain cream sleeve exhibits significant foxing.
