A Pair of London Souvenir Ceramic Figural Salt and Pepper Shakers
Description
A pair of glazed ceramic salt and pepper shakers designed as iconic British figures. The set includes a police officer in a black uniform with a custodian helmet and a Royal Guardsman wearing a red tunic and bearskin hat. The figures feature pour holes to the top of the headgear, with three holes on the policeman and two on the guardsman. The reverse of the Guardsman is marked with a stylized red C R logo and Made in China in black. Remnants of paper labels are present on the undersides, with one fragment displaying the letters PAP.
Height: 8.5 cm.
Condition report:
The Guardsman figure shows a significant diagonal break to the lower reverse which has been repaired with visible white adhesive. The police officer figure is in good condition with no visible cracks or repairs.
