A Set of Tuscan Fine English Bone China Tea Ware
Description
A set of fine bone china tea ware manufactured by R. H. & S. L. Plant Ltd under the brand name Tuscan. The collection features a pale seafoam green glaze with a subtle textured or hammered effect to the exterior of the vessels, complemented by white interiors. Each piece is decorated with gilded rims and pedestal foot rings, and the teacups and creamers are fitted with gilded scroll handles. The underside of the pieces bears a green printed backstamp comprising a capital letter T above the words TUSCAN FINE ENGLISH BONE CHINA arranged in arcs, a central winged crown emblem, and MADE IN ENGLAND. This mark was utilised by the manufacturer from approximately 1947 onwards. The set comprises an assortment of teacups, saucers, creamers, and sugar bowls.
Condition report:
The set appears to be in good overall condition with no visible chips or cracks. There is minor surface wear and light rubbing to the gilding on the rims and foot rings consistent with age and use.
