An incomplete vintage wicker picnic hamper with yellow plastic picnicware
Description
A vintage-style wicker picnic hamper of suitcase form, featuring a two-tone woven exterior with dual woven handles and a leather fastening strap with metal turn-lock hardware. The interior is lined with a green and white gingham-patterned fabric. This incomplete set includes an assortment of yellow plastic picnic components, comprising a trio of mugs and various cutlery pieces, secured within the lid and base by leather and fabric loops. The construction and materials are consistent with mid-20th-century portable dining sets. No maker’s marks are discernible.
Condition report:
The hamper exhibits age-related wear consistent with domestic use. There is noticeable fraying and minor loss to the wicker weaving, particularly along the edges and corners. The leather fastening strap and internal loops show significant drying, cracking, and wear. The metal hardware displays surface scratches and light oxidation. The internal gingham lining remains largely intact but shows minor signs of previous use. The included plastic items are incomplete and exhibit surface scuffing.
