A World War II British War Relief Society Enamel Military Pin Badge by Accessocraft
Description
An official World War II period British War Relief Society (BWRS) military pin badge, produced by Accessocraft of New York. This shield-shaped badge is constructed from gilt-toned base metal with decorative enamel infill. The obverse features a central raised lion passant guardant on a cream enamel field, positioned next to a Tudor crown. The design is bordered by the British royal motto Dieu et mon Droit. To the right side of the shield is a vertical banner featuring horizontal enamel stripes in black, white, and red. The reverse is fitted with a threaded screw post and a circular brass thumb nut for attachment. The back is stamped with several marks including Official B.W.R.S., N.Y. Accessocraft, and the initials B.B.
Condition report:
The badge is in good vintage condition. The gilt finish exhibits minor surface tarnish and light wear consistent with age. The enamel remains largely intact with vibrant colours and no significant chips or cracks. The original screw fitting and nut are present and functional.
