Airfix Classic Ships Series 9 Golden Hind 1578 Scale 1:72 Model Kit
Description
A vintage Airfix Special Edition plastic model kit representing the Golden Hind, the galleon captained by Sir Francis Drake. This 1:72 scale kit is part of the Classic Ships Series 9. The kit is housed in its original pictorial cardboard box featuring artwork of the ship at sea. The box displays the Airfix logo, Classic Ships branding in red script, and is designated as a Special Edition. Visible components include two large brown moulded plastic hull halves along with various deck and superstructure sprues. The kit includes a set of white vacuum-formed plastic sails, an original printed instruction sheet, and a small spool of black rigging thread labelled 0.30. A 4 Flying Hours token is present on the bottom right corner of the box lid. This item was manufactured in the United Kingdom.
Condition report:
The kit appears to be in unstarted condition with components still attached to their plastic sprues. The original pictorial box shows signs of age-related wear, including minor scuffing to the edges and corners, and light staining or foxing to the white areas of the lid. The contents have not been individually inventoried for every small part and the lot is sold as seen.
