An Olympia De Luxe SM7 Wide Carriage Manual Typewriter
Description
A manual typewriter manufactured by Olympia, identified as the SM7 De Luxe model. The machine features an off-white or cream-coloured metal housing with the cursive manufacturer’s name “Olympia” on the front faceplate and “De Luxe” in red script on the internal segment area. This example is fitted with a wide carriage and a standard QWERTY keyboard that includes the British pound sterling (£) symbol and fractional characters. The keyboard includes two teal-coloured function keys. A retailer’s label for Kettering Typewriter Services, located in Kettering, is affixed to the right side of the carriage. The typewriter retains its internal mechanical components and a bi-colour black and red ribbon.
Condition report:
The typewriter displays signs of age and previous use. There is visible surface grime and light dust accumulation within the internal mechanisms and typebars. Minor scuffs and small marks are present on the painted housing. The mechanical operation and typing seems to be working fine.
